About Vancouver Port
Vancouver Port has two cruise terminals, one is right downtown and the other is only a ten-minute drive away. Hotels, shops, attractions and remnants of local history abound.
Vancouver became an established part of Canada in 1886, a year after the Fraser Gold Rush, when thousands of people rushed there in search of gold. Vancouver is the site of social reform in Canada, including moral reform and women's rights. The 2010 Winter Olympics were held in Vancouver.
Well-known for its arts and culture, visitors to Vancouver can visit the theater at the Arts Club Theatre Company or watch films at the Vancouver International Film Festival, which takes place in September. Museums include the Vancouver Art Gallery, the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and Science World.
The Harbour Center Tower is British Columbia's tallest building and provides a 360-degree view. Don't miss Stanley Park, the city's main attraction. Despite the destruction in 2006, visitors can still walk or bike through it.
Individuals just passing through should enjoying the variety of shops and restaurants scattered through.
